Japanese Asamushi Sencha

Taste Profile

We steam this leaf only briefly, and that is what you taste. The cup is clean and bright, with a fresh aroma that carries the high mountain air it was grown in. There is a light astringency, the kind that wakes the mouth up rather than drying it out, and a clear sweetness underneath. The leaf stays whole and needle-like because the steam is short, so the brew runs clear rather than cloudy. This is a sencha that tastes of where it comes from. Crisp, lifted, and honest about it.

Loose leaf asamushi sencha, a light steamed Japanese sencha grown in the high mountains of Haruno, Shizuoka. Our own cultivar blend. A clean, bright cup with a fresh mountain aroma. Lab tested. 500kg this year, exclusively for Teafy.

Brewing Instructions

Take 1 tsp (2 g) of tea leaves into an infuser.

Pour 180 ml of 80℃ hot water.

Steep for 1 - 3 minutes.

Filter the tea leaves and pour into a cup.
